Become a Trustee

Do you have some spare time to become a trustee? Would you like to make a real difference? Why not become a Trustee?
We couldn’t do any of our vital work without our Board of Trustees – they are central to our success. SCCCC has been helping older people in Sheffield since 1966. Throughout our long history, our trustees have helped guide the way. Made up of local volunteers who give their time, skills, and experience to oversee the general control and management of the administration of SCCCC, our Trustees make a vital contribution to our work.

The role of a Trustee with SCCCC

A trustee provides invaluable guidance, leadership, and skills to support our work. Each have different skills and backgrounds and a desire to make a real difference. We need volunteer Trustees to help SCCCC achieve its mission and ensure that the charity is effectively managed.

The Board usually meets four times a year, with four sub-committees also meeting quarterly. Each trustee sits on one of the sub-committees. Therefore, we ask you to commit to eight meetings per year as a minimum. You do not necessarily need previous Board experience. When you become a Trustee will receive a full induction and will be supported by other Board Members and the Chief Executive in your role.
