Become a Trustee

SCCCC has been helping older people in Sheffield since 1966. Throughout our long history, our trustees have helped guide the way. Made up of local volunteers who give their time, skills and experience to oversee the general control and management of the administration of SCCCC, our Trustees make a vital contribution to our work.

With the growth of SCCCC we now wish to recruit new members to our Board of Trustees. We need people to help SCCCC achieve its mission and ensure that the charity is effectively managed. You will need to be able to make a commitment to SCCCC of up to 8 meetings per year.

As well as devoting the necessary time you will have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind. Ideally the new Trustees will also have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Within the NHS

• Work experience in health or social care

• Business and/or professional management experience

• Legal experience

• Fundraising

• Marketing – either in the private, public or not-for-profit sectors

• Information technology – particularly in relation to online communications (eg websites, social media, etc)

• Human resources

• Community enagagement

We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse Board of Trustees and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

These are pro-bono position with rewards other than money. Applicants should be enthused by our work and should be able to use their skills to make a real difference to our organisation.

To apply to become a trustee with SCCCC please complete and return the application form, or for further details please contact Mark Storey on either or 0114 250 5293
